About the Work

Photography entered my life at thirteen, introduced by my father, an ophthalmologist whose love for the medium taught me not only to use a camera, but to look—to pause, observe, and discover beauty beyond the obvious.
Born in Brazil, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and initially pursued a career in tourism and hospitality. After moving to California in 2001, I returned to photography with intention, earning an Associate Degree in Art and Photography. Since then, I have worked across many areas of the medium, including photo labs, school photography, studio portraits, architecture, interiors, and e-commerce.
My fine-art photography is rooted in my fascination with nature and abstraction - the poetry of overlooked details. I move close to leaves, flowers, bark, branches, and other natural forms, transforming familiar subjects into compositions of lines, curves, textures, colors, and rhythms.
I am equally drawn to the urban landscape—weathered walls, graffiti, cracked sidewalks, old cars, peeling surfaces, oxidation, and traces of decay. These marks reveal the passage of time and the beauty of transformation.
Photography is an act of seeing beyond the obvious. Through abstraction, I try to slow down the act of looking - inviting both myself and the viewer to see not just what something is, but the many possibilities of what it can become.
